How to search

The search for the forum is quite versatile and you can search the three main fields: the subject, author and date updated.

Subject

The subject field can be queried by simply entering a word, partial word or multiple words. If you're specifically looking for something that you know is in the subject then you can add subject: before your word(s) as shown below. The subject search is case-insensitive. Here are some examples of searching the subject:

One thing you might want to search for in the subject is the keyword "fixed". This will find messages which have the "fixed" keyword in the subject. ie This will find messages that have been marked as resolved. The "fixed" keyword doesn't show up in the list of messages or in the message heading - only in the title of the page that you can see in the browsers title bar.

Author

Like the subject field, the author field can be queried by simply entering a name, partial name or multiple names. If you're specifically looking for messages from a particular author then you can add author: before your word(s) as shown below. The author search is case-insensitive. Here are some examples of searching the author:

Updated

The updated field can be queried and is the most versatile. Dates are shown in the message list in the format: 20th January 2022 but this is not the only format that you can search with. Dates are stored, behind the scenes, in the format: YYYY-MM-DD and you can, if you prefer, search using this format as well (see the examples below).

Combining search operators

You can combine search terms in order to narrow down the search results. Combining terms is like performing a logical AND operation. Performing an OR operation is not supported.
