Written by Richard Heyes, RGraph author, on 9th April 2024The next version of RGraph - version 6.18- will incorporate a new
wave
effect for the Pie chart
(and thus the Donut chart
as well). This new effect is similar to the wave
for the Bar chart
and gradually increases the radius
of the segments from zero. This video demonstrates the new effect and also shows an example of using the animation callback
function, that runs when the effect has finished, to increase the width of the Donut chart
. If you can't wait for the next version to be released then you can download the Pie chart library from GitHub here.
Here's the code for the demo . I've added the frames
option to the call to the wave
effect in order to slow the effect down and make it more obvious for you.
<script>
new RGraph.Pie({
id: 'cvs',
data: [4,8,2,6,9,5],
options: {
shadow: false,
labels: ['Brian','Olga','Vicki','Lucy','Bobby','Paul'],
labelsList: 0,
labelsSize: 18,
linewidth: 5,
variant: 'donut'
}
}).wave({frames: 180});
//}).wave({frames: 180}, function (obj)
//{
// obj.set('variantDonutWidth', obj.radius / 2);
// obj.animate({variantDonutWidth: 125});
//});
</script>
